Hi Everyone,
I’d like to start off by thanking every person who took the time to vote, suggest new books, and leave feedback. We’re still in the early stages of shaping the resist[AI]ance Book Club and welcome your suggestions. Keep them coming!
The Poll Results

Our next book will be Algorithmic Harm: Protecting People in the Age of Artificial Intelligence by Cass R. Sunstein & Oren Bar-Gill. This Oxford University Press book took 60% of your votes.
It questions whether algorithms will help or hurt humans. Given the title, we can take a wild guess as to what the authors propose.
Where to Find the Algorithmic Harm Book
As a reminder, you do not need to purchase or read the book, but you’re welcome to do so.
Our panelists will do the reading and create an agenda for our discussion based on the main topics we find. We chose this method to ensure that everyone can participate, whether they have the resources or not.
That said, the more people read the book, the livelier the discussions. Here are some of the places we’ve found it:
Oxford Academic (usually FREE if you have access via your university)
New Book Suggestions
If you’d like to suggest other books for upcoming events, we created a form so that you can submit them at any time. Remember that the books we discuss are chosen as a group. So the best way to help shape what we read is to participate in our selection process.
We read what you decide.
Next Steps
Our panel members will meet in the next week or so to align our schedules. We’ll then share the date and time for our next event to discuss Algorithmic Harm. Generally, we budget for a few weeks so that each of us have time to read the book.
Stay tuned!
